When the doors open 9th august to Formland fair in Herning, 480 exhibitors are divided into 10
exhibition halls ready to welcome visitors professionals from almost 30 countries. Of these, 94 are
new Formland exhibitors for the first time.
– It is gratifying and encouraging to see that so many regular exhibitors in combination with 94 brand new
exhibitors opt for Formland. It shows that despite difficult times is a lot of will and
development like in the industry, says Marianne Jensen, chairman of trade association FAGA and member of
Crafts Council International Committee.
Rates behårdt at Formland
One of the 94 new exhibitors at Formland are Swedish String Furniture. And they have a clear purpose
to participate at the fair in Herning.
– We focus very hard on the Danish market, and here Formland the best approach to getting
contact with the Danish players. Many of our existing partners are also featured on
Formland and fair is a good place to enter into dialogue with our Nordic colleagues, says Peter
Erlanden, which owns the Swedish String Furniture.
News queued for Formland Design Award
There have been very busy with the jury to Formland Design Award. 75 news is enrolled
competition, and it’s twice as many as the previous trade fair and a general improvement in conditions
for the past 5 years.
– And there has been a tough battle for nominations this year. Clearly we see that there are more furniture
in the contest for Formland price than previously. Simultaneously, the products have more of a story
they are long lasting and have a craft background, says a member of Form Lands
Jury and editor of Bo Better, Eric Rimmer.
Besides Formland prize is awarded for the first time an award for “Great Idea”. The award is given to a good
warped, funny, unusual or surprising idea. The winner is rewarded with 10,000 dollars.
Formland increases the focus on foreign visitors
Formland have a good grip on the people outside Denmark. 16% of august-fair’s visitors come
from abroad. And it is the success that now build. Therefore, in cooperation with Formland
Exhibitors invited a number of foreign VIP guests. A total of 71 professional buyers from Norway and
Sweden will be flown to Formland in Herning to visit the fair.
– The goal is to get even more foreign buyers to the fair. It will raise awareness of both
Fair and the region, and we have experienced an overwhelming interest in Formland, says Director of MCH,
Lars Jespersen, who looks forward to welcoming foreign guests in Herning.
Finn Juhl celebrated at Formland
The internationally renowned Danish furniture designer Finn Juhl celebrated at Formland. This year could
successful designer be aged 100 years and it is marked with a special Finn Juhl Exhibition. Behind
exhibition stands Ringkøbing-OneCollection company, which today owns the rights to Finn Juhl.
