The Eva Solo® washing-up brush is an elegant take on a classic kitchen implement which is used in most homes. It features a distinctive, streamlined design in stainless steel with graceful curves that make it comfortable to hold. At the same time, the washing-up brush can stand upright on its own so it’s always close at hand beside the sink when pots, pans and plates need cleaning.

The Eva Solo® washing-up brush is an exciting redesign of an invaluable piece of kitchenware. The brush has been given a new aesthetic dimension in that the handle and the head constitute an elegant, beautiful and rounded entity. The choice of materials in both polished and brushed stainless steel lends a stylish and timeless appearance to the brush, beautifully supplemented by the brush head’s dark grey plastic hairs.

The brush head of the Eva Solo washing-up brush can easily be replaced by unscrewing a single screw. Another practical detail is that the brush can stand upright on its own beside the sink, so it’s always close at hand.

The reason for redesigning this simple kitchen implement is based on a strong desire to create a common design thread in all product groups for the modern kitchen:

“It was interesting for us to invent a washing-up brush which, in addition to being highly functional, also features a design ‘twist’ so it stands out from other washing-up brushes. We therefore decided to give it a unique shape so it can stand up by itself, and an attractive stainless steel finish that matches the rest of Eva Solo’s product range,” says Henrik Holbæk from the designer duo Tools, which is behind the many well-known Eva Solo products.

The washing-up brush matches other well-known kitchen products such as the Eva Solo® dishcloth, the Eva Solo® soap dispenser and the Eva Solo® tea towel, which together add a stylish and harmonious touch to any kitchen.

The Eva Solo washing-up brush is supplied boxed with an extra brush head. Moreover, it is possible to purchase two extra brush heads.

Horn bowls in a smart design

The West Jutland firm Horn goods factory’s vases Anine are nominated for the Formland Design Award – Autumn 2009. Based on kohorn, designer Sara Bech Bruun created a modern design product for the house. Horn goods factory is the only remaining company in Denmark producing handicrafts in kohorn.

The designer has managed to create beauty out of something so simple and natural as a kohorn. We have already seen the material in other functions, from powder horns for drinking cups to the current design. The vases are beautiful and modern with a perfect finish of the form in which the sharp line at the bottom is the icing on the cake, says the nomination committee.

Anine is designed by Sara Bruun Buch, who in October 2008 over the Horn of goods factory, and has since led the production of new design directions with respect for the old crafts. The concept behind Anine is dragging nature into the room with a touch of modernity. The result is decorative objects and vases, and the recommended retail price is from $ 499 to $ 699

The architects Bene dict, and Poul Erik Find from Tegnestuen Hindevadgård in Søndersø Fyn found ladders lacked aesthetics while they were unable to reach the upper shelves of the library shelves. Based on Høkerstigen by merchants used in the old days, they have created a modern design of the old classic. It can be seen at Formland Autumn 2009 14 to 17 August, which will take place at Fairs MCH Herning.

Stair ladders are manufactured in solid birch and have an extended grip on one side, that you can hold on to. This makes it suitable for people of all ages, whether it’s your child who has to reach the kitchen table, or you who needs to get something that is up in a cupboard. The steps are ergonomic and good to stand on. Even at the uppermost level, you are safe and comfortable with one hand on the extended grip.

Stair Ladders are functional and are good and safe to use daily. The special-designed brass fittings ensure that the ladder does not slip.

After use, the ladder can be folded together and hung on the wall using the included Wall Bracket and therefore is always at hand when you need it. It is simultaneously a simple tool that is reliable and display furniture when not in use.

The first product was in clear lacquer, but the latest products are also available in the colors black, white and orange, so you have the opportunity to create contrast or harmony in your home.

Vipp is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a miniature model of Holger Nielsen’s original Vipp pedal bin – to the delight of design enthusiasts across the world. The Vipp 70th Anniversary Edition has been produced in a scale of 1:5 and in a limited series of 400 numbered copies.

On the occasion of the anniversary, we decided to take a walk down memory lane: the Vipp 70th Anniversary Edition has been produced according to the specifications of the very first Vipp bin, created in Holger Nielsen’s workshop 70 years ago. The miniature bin comes with the original ears, logo and wavy lid.

The first Vipp bin saw the light of day in 1939 when Holger Nielsen created it for his wife Marie’s hairdressing salon. Much has happened over the past 70 years – the Vipp bin has been dressed in a variety of colours, it has been exhibited at the Louvre, and many international personalities in the worlds of fashion, design and music have sprinkled stardust on the Danish design icon. And yet, the Vipp bin remains just the same.

Danish Crafts’ debut in Zona Tortona last year was such a resounding success that Danish Crafts is present once again in Zona Tortona during the Milan Design Week. This time with the exhibition MINDCRAFT 09,“shhh … Craft is Golden”, which showcases 12 of Denmark’s finest craftspeople and designers. The exhibition is on display 21 through 26 April 2009 in Zona Tortona, Via Savona 55a.

Danish craft and design is currently in a unique position and enjoys great international recognition and demand. With the exhibition MINDCRAFT 09, “Shhh … Craft is Golden”, Danish Crafts wishes to introduce the world to the huge potential, the gold, to be found in Danish craft and illustrate the great rewards awaiting anyone wishing to explore the world of craft. The title refers to the old adage, “speech is silver; silence is golden”, and thus, the exhibition highlights the values inherent in craft.

In this case, the gold consists of 12 reflective, luminescent, rotating, crawling and, not least, provoking works that speak for themselves with great integrity thus demonstrating that this is the real thing.

“Everything around us is a source of inspiration and worth a second look. PegCollection is inspired by the clothes peg. When we create a product, our starting point is often something small, simple and very ordinary. Our ambition with PegCollection was to create a lamp that stirs recognition, giving the viewer an aha-experience. Not only a light source, the sculptural quality of PegCollection creates a strong personality, its boldly simple form allowing PegCollection to ft perfectly into both the home and public environment. “

Inspired by the gossamer lace curtains in Karen Blixen’s home at Rungstedlund, Lin Utzon has now created an attractive new vase and votive with a matt silver motif. The name Tanne is derived from the writer’s nickname, and the range combines simplicity and elegance – just as we would expect from Karen Blixen’s sure sense of style.

Rosendahl is the official main sponsor of the Karen Blixen Museum, and for every piece of Karen Blixen’s Christmas sold, a donation is made towards new exhibitions at the Rungstedlund museum. “We are delighted to be able to make a contribution as the main sponsor of the Karen Blixen Museum’s ongoing efforts to preserve the artistic legacy of Karen Blixen. Partnership with the museum will help to strengthen our brand in Denmark and internationally, while also giving us the opportunity to develop entirely new related concepts,” according to Erik Rosendahl, chairman of the board and founder of Rosendahl.

“The museum at Rungstedlund is an autonomous institution under the Rungstedlund Fund. We depend on funding to enable us to continue the work of preserving Karen Blixen’s lovely house, Rungstedlund, and showcasing the writer’s life and work. The museum has been in existence for 17 years now and has drawn close to a million visitors from all over the world. We are delighted that Rosendahl has come forward as our main sponsor because we feel Karen Blixen’s writings represent the quality of design that Rosendahl stands for,” says Marianne Wirenfeldt Asmussen, museum director at Rungstedlund.

For the fashion-conscious, designer accessories are an absolute must that add the final touch to their personal style. Unfortunately the bubble bursts when you see a trendy woman strolling down the high street clasping an old plastic water bottle in her hand. Eva Denmark has now addressed this clash of styles by launching a stylish designer water flask which fits neatly into your handbag and matches your sunglasses.

Bag, purse, sunglasses, scarf, gloves – the list of accessories is long when we go out of the door to wow our surroundings. But the perfect image is too easily shattered if we carry an old plastic water bottle around with us. This is why Eva Denmark is now launching the Eva Solo designer water flask in stainless steel, which completes your accessories and elegantly complements your style. Your choice of accessories matters more than people tend to think.

“Expensive designer brands are aware that women demand quality products. Women focus on products which complement their individual style while providing superior quality, and the products you choose emphasise your personality and signal your identity. There is a clear trend that clothing and accessories should be exclusive and convey a sense of confidence. And the more accessories, the better,” says Charlotte P. Henriksen, designer and owner of CphSTYLING.

Fits in your handbag
Eva Solo products are famous for striking a fine balance between design and function – and the new Eva Solo water flask is no exception. The water flask is not only a unique design achievement – it is also supremely functional. Like any thermo flask, this innovative flask is designed to keep the water cool all day, and the mouthpiece is easy to take off and put on – without spilling even a drop in your handbag. Finally, the flask is delicate and inviting to drink from.

“It is a well-known fact that we taste with all our senses. That’s why water tastes different when you drink it from an elegant designer flask rather than an old soft drinks bottle. This water flask is our attempt to create a style icon which you want to take with you everywhere and which is also a pleasure to drink from. It was important for us to make the flask as lightweight as possible while retaining its functionality as a thermo flask that keeps the water cold,” says Jan Engelbrecht, Managing Director of Eva Denmark.

Fashionable everywhere
So, whether you are planning an afternoon of shopping, a weekend away with your friends in a remote cottage or a business trip across the country, the new Eva Solo water flask is the perfect travel companion and accessory. And even when the winds of fashion change and you need to replace your handbag and sunglasses, the timeless design of the water flask will ensure that it also goes perfectly with next season’s collection of indispensable accessories.

The Eva Solo water flask is available both in matt and polished stainless steel, and the lid features a smart strap which means you can carry the flask around your wrist. The matt thermos water flask has a black strap, while the polished flask has a red strap.
